Location: Zhengding County, about 30km (19 miles) northeast to the city center
Brief Intro: Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport was put into service in 1995 as the largest civil airport in Hebei Province. Zhengding International now serves 44 air routes to more than 30 domestic and international cities, including four routes to Russia. It is currently being expanded to ensure it will be capable of being an alternate airport to Beijing Capital International Airport for the Olympics in 2008.

The city of Shijiazhuang falls in the temperate zone and enjoys typical continental climate. It has clearly distinguished four seasons, with short spring and autumn and long winter and summer. The frost-free period spans 200 days. Rainfall is centered in summer, specifically, June, July, and August. The average snowfall here is not very much, mainly concentrating in January. Travelers are advised not to go out in a snowy day. Spring and autumn are very pleasant, especially autumn, because tourists can enjoy the red leaves on mountains. 

Zhaozhou Bridge
Another provincial-level historical and cultural place is Zhao County, which boasts the famous Zhaozhou Bridge. This 1400 year-old stone bridge is located 45 kilometers (28 miles) southeast of the urban area. It is not only an outstanding work in the cultural history of China but also an mile stone in the developing process of Human civilization.
